Around our islands reaches up to 6mm in size (may grow up to 12mm in size in the Gulf of Gabes). Easily distinguished from other Gibbula shells due to the four strong concentric cords, followed by about 8 fine ones on the base. These are more easily seen when viewed from the base. Fine oblique lamellae occur between the cords. Umbilicus circular, deep.
